Added December, 2010: Home-study students can now interact with other students and the Head Instructor Anya McCoy in a discussion forum group on Yahoo. This is a valuable educational bonus and will help the new student make friends in the community while learning.
* Files and Forms include Word.doc and Excel.xls forms for evaluation and recordkeeping, alcohol laws and suppliers from the USA, UK, AU and Canada, aromatics suppliers, bottle suppliers, MSDS and CoA sheets, and much more.
** Over 60 vintage and modern perfumery and perfumery-related books and articles will be emailed to the student.
*** Student will pay the difference in the tuition fee between the home-study option they are enrolled under, and the online option. This may be done at any time after their initial enrollment. Contact the Institute if you wish to upgrade and have access to the website, lectures, videos, frequently-updated and improved resources, and much more.
**** The home-study option student may apply for certification upon completion of the assignments, which the student will submit via email, and a brief essay about the process of the perfume they have created for evaluation for the final project. A minimum of 1 milliliter of perfume, labeled with the student's name and the name of the perfume must be mailed to the Head Instructor. The perfume review fee must be submitted at this time.

The beautiful textbook cover artwork is shown on the left. The bottle and artwork are very symbolic: through the smoke - "per fumen" - we can see the release of the scent of the fragrant materials, including flowers, ferns, seashells and animals, represented by the butterfly.
The clock represents the perfumer's task of making all of the elements work together harmoniously in a timed framework known as "drydown".
I love this artwork and was very, very happy to discover it and use it for the AGNPI Basic Natural Perfumery textbook. The textbook is 349 pages and includes full-color photos, charts and forms. |
