The gardens were particularly fragrant for the past ten days.  Summer is always the “tropical flowers going wild” time in Miami, especially around the full moon.  The full moon was last Sunday, the 23rd, and the flowers were blooming for days before that, and still are, especially the white ones, mostly jasmines.  The champacas, ylangs, frangipanis, brugmansias, aglaias and chinese honeysuckles were giving me lots of flowers for enfleurage, or for just smelling enjoyment. I snapped some photos of lovely American White Egrets enjoying the organic yummies (bugs!) in my organic lawn, which is dotted with wildflowers.  They usually dine in shallow waters, but this couple decided the offerings in my lawn were the turf part of their surf diet!

Maybe the beautiful scent of my garden attracted them from the shoreline. 🙂

Two White American Ibises - enjoying the safe, organic atmosphere in my garden. They're probably a mated monogamous couple.

Putting her long beat to use!

Putting that long beak to use getting lunch!

Bird talk aside, of course I’m here for any perfumery questions you may have today.  The reference to time flying by in the subject line?  I’ve got a ton of projects and so many deadlines!  Just a little whine with my Sunday brunch 😉 I’ll be here until 10PM ET.  If you leave a question, don’t forget to check the box to receive notice of followup comments.  Have a great Sunday!

i had to run and play “Datura” from Tori Amos when i started reading your list of beauties!

not that is has much to do with perfumery per se, but in the background she is listing names of plants and it set my poor little brain atwitter. 😉

ibises! oh how i miss their ubiquitous presence in florida! it’s easy to forget, once left the tropics, of the LUSHNESS and variation of LIFE.

and the nice thing is they are not going to take any of the jasmine away from me. i mean you. *grin*

    much light!!
